This temple took 40 years to construct. Construction began in 1853 and it was finally dedicated in April of 1893. This six-spired temple is constructed of Granite from the quarry in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Until a railway was constructed each block was hauled by oxcart, to Salt Lake City.
