This square in the
middle of Salt Lake City is the symbolic heart of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. enclosed in a 15-foot wall
this ten-acre landmark has many points of interest; the granite
Mormon Temple, the domed Tabernacle, Assembly Hall, Temple Annex,
two visitors centers, and Seagull monument. The two visitors centers
offer free tours and a variety of films and exhibits. every sunday
morning The Salt Lake Tabernacle Choir peforms broadcasts, and
rehersals are open to the public Thursday evenings.
The
world-famous pipe organ rests in the tabernacle on temple square.
